Looking after Grey Matters camp deep in the delta 18th Jan 2010

After cleaning the small tent behind mine I took a tractor ride with Sunny to the airstrip to collect the freight, we followed lion tracks all the way to the far end of the airstrip. We cleared the runway of warthog, impala, zebra and spur wing goose. On the way back we came across fighting lechwee, they were so busy I got within 10m of them,
We arrived back at camp about 2.15 and the trio were in the Boma feeding, the small tent was drying nicely, I hand a chat with Amos about working extra days, his medication and the message about his wife and the monies being sent.
After lunch emails were checked and the freight stored. Sunny was happy to get the sieve, oils and key switch for the tractor, we then pumped water.
Marula was much happier today and received her medication without to much fuss, Jabu also, the trio departed and returned just before 8
Lion were calling to the North, hippo to the South, thunder rumbled in most directions as I slept, I woke around 1 as lightning crashed down in camp and the wind was driving the rain horizontal I had to close down the tent window as the rain was coming in the tent from all directions! this when on for about an hour. didn't or couldn't hear any complaints from the trio.
This morning light rain was still falling as the trio left, Sunny had an argument with Two about one of the wheelbarrows not being in good condition. and not informing him... I let them finnish that their way...
When we finished cleaning the boma I asked Two and Moks to clean the boma drainage trenches as some sand had washed into them in the rainstorm.  and then asked sunny to service all the wheelbarrows this morning and fit the tractor key-switch, the MF tractor also has a slow puncher( front left) that requires attention.  it is too damp to clean tents this morning! I've just cleaned up the kitchen all the chairs are wet from the rain and had to change the gas bottle for the fridge, it did seam rather quiet first thing this morning?

stand by for the next episode
